PRACTICE MAKES PERFECTPuck possession starts with each faceoff & every player on the ice must understand and execute their responsibilites. Quite often the centremen get thrown out of the circle and this is why it is important we understand other positions and responsibilities. Competition is a great tool for practising and I am always impressed when a defencemen wants to challenge a centremen in the possession circle.
When thinking back on what made me successful at this position, I look no further than the words my mentors used when speaking of winning face offs.
